Toyota has announced the release of Collision Assistance, a service offering guided instructions to help drivers navigate steps to follow after a collision. Integrated into the Toyota owner smartphone app and available on certain 2018 model year and newer Toyota vehicles, it can make the time after a collision less stressful by prompting drivers to collect accident documentation, connecting them to a network of auto insurers for potential claim submission and assisting with locating a collision repair facility.
As part of Toyota's commitment to safety, Collision Assistance is a service offered alongside Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, a suite of advanced safety features comprised of:
- Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Daytime/Low-Light Vehicle and Pedestrian Detection, plus Daytime Bicycle Detection
- Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) or Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
- Lane Departure Alert (LDA) with Steering Assist and Road Edge Detection
- Automatic High Beams (AHB)
- Road Sign Assist (RSA)
- Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
